The Vallejo Admirals lost to the Napa Silverados 9-5 on Thursday in a Pacific Association game at Napa Valley College.

The Admirals led 3-1 early but Napa scored five in the second inning and two more in the third to lead 8-3.

Daniel Diaz suffered the loss as he went two innings, allowing nine hits and six runs, five earned. Reliever Michael Pope surrendered five hits and three runs in three innings of relief.

The win went to Jackson Berumen, who went 5 1/3 innings and allowed six hits and five runs. However, it was Silverado relievers Chris Butcher and Angel Mejia, who were the stars. Butcher went 2 2/3 innings and allowed just one hit and no runs while Mejia did not allow a run in his one inning of relief work.

Nick Akins Sr. and dAundray Van Slyke both had two hits for the Admirals (31-30). Ray Jones had three hits and Dominic Bethancourt hit his seventh homer for Napa (25-36).

The two teams continue their series on Friday. The Admirals return home on Saturday and Sunday to host the Pittsburg Diamonds. Saturday is Public Safety Night and Sunday is Jewish Heritage Day.
