SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Jesse Remington was sharp again for the Vallejo Admirals, but it wasn’t enough as San Rafael came from behind on Sunday to post a 3-1 victory over Vallejo at Albert Field in San Rafael.

Vallejo took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on catcher Ricky Gingras’s second home run of the year. The former Pacific has hit both of his home runs this year at Albert Field against his former team.

Remington, who pitched seven shutout innings on Tuesday in his Admirals debut against Salina, was strong again, holding the Pacifics scoreless through five. However, in the sixth, Dante Biagini led off by reaching on an error by shortstop Zach Files. Biagini stole second and went to third on Raul Navarro’s double to left. Axel Johnson brought home Biagini with the tying run on a ground out, ending Remington’s day. Eli Garcia got out of the jam.

Remington allowed one unearned run in his 5 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking none.

San Rafael took the lead in the seventh. Ermindo Escobar led off with a single, Two outs later, Mike Annone singled to right and when right fielder Vladimir Gomez misplayed the ball, Escobar came around to score. Navarro later singled in Annone with an insurance run.

The Admirals travel to Napa on June 11. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. Vallejo returns home against Salina on June 12 (6:35 p..m.). Tickets, information and the complete 2019 schedule are online at VallejoAdmirals.com.
