From the Vallejo Times-Herald

The Vallejo Admirals looked like they had a solid hold on third place in the Pacific Association just a few weeks ago.

That’s no longer the case.

The Pittsburg Diamonds routed the Admirals 14-4 on Sunday afternoon at Wilson Park as both teams are 31-33 overall and tied for third. Vallejo has lost five straight and was swept in the two-game series.

The Diamonds led 7-4 before erupting for seven in the ninth inning to break things open.

Jalen Miller Sr. suffered the loss as he went five innings, allowing five hits and six runs. He fanned eight and walked four more.

Brett Solano picked up the win as he went seven innings, scattering eight hits and four runs.

Gabriel Bracamonte, Joel Carranza and Stephen Haviar all went deep for Pittsburg.

Vlad Gomez was 2-for-5 and Nick Crouse was 2-for-4 for the Admirals, who host the Stompers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Nick Akins Sr. drove in three runs and has a league-leading 67 for the season
