Sales Associate

The Vallejo Admirals are seeking unique individuals who thrive on energy, creativity and can multi-task efficiently, to work on executing the teams sponsorship and promotional programs, and assist with the day-to-day creative operations.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • 2-5+ years sales experience, including cold calling.
  • Proven track record of success in sales and stellar account management.
  • Be meticulous with details and possess stellar closing and follow-up skills.
  • Effective time management skills, with strong organization and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to utilize search engines and other business resources to gather relevant data and facts and be able to synthesize and apply the information appropriately
  • Create and manage a pipeline of prospects in order to grow the sponsorship client base.
  • Immerse yourself in your key markets in order to stay abreast of pressing industry challenges/trends.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and prospects
  • Develop and grow a strong comprehension of the sales process, including an understanding of the value proposition and value based selling
  • Ensure sponsors receive promised deliverables
  • Must be a team player with the ability to provide clear and concise direction/feedback to management
  • Proven ability to take on responsibility and direction; capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

This position is wholly commission based; 15% commission on all revenue generating sponsorship // 10% commission on all services/in-kind sponsorship & returning sponsorships

Marketing/Event Planning Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Designs flyers and other marketing materials for events
  • Attends and contributes ideas to event planning meetings
  • Works with staff, interns and volunteers on event day to insure the event’s success
  • Takes photos at events for use on social media and photo database
  • Complete an event summary report
  • Other duties assigned

Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations

The 2017 Champions of the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs is seeking a Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting for 2018. The franchise’s original media director, Tim Fitzgerald, is now the full-time SID at Cal State Maritime in Vallejo. The Media and Broadcasting Department has publishing and broadcasting aspects that include:
 
  • Website & social media management
  • Managing the team’s Pointstreak, Baseball Reference & Wiki page
  • Press release distribution & creation
  • Creating program inserts for each home series with player stats, fun facts, and probable pitchers
  • Assisting other media outlets during games in press box and in arranging coach and player interviews
  • Writing and posting of game wraps on website
  • Conducting pre and post-game shows
  • Lead Play-by-by of all 78 Admirals games, with former Media Director Tim Fitzgerald joining for about 25 broadcasts (option of being Public Address announcer at home and lead broadcaster on road available)
  • Official score keeping of home games
  • Oversee production and sound of in-game entertainment and script for public address
  • Production of ads and ad copy for radio broadcasts and in-stadium announcements
The Broadcasting & Media Relations Director will work with local media regarding any information they may need to increase coverage of the Vallejo Admirals.
 
Start Date: Offseason work can begin immediately for a monthly stipend that increases as the season approaches. The job kicks into full gear in March as the season starts in late May/early June & ends at the completion of the season in late August/early September (pending playoffs).
 
This is a paid position with sales commission opportunities. The salary will be determined by the experience of the candidate.
 
Qualifications:
  • Passion for sports media
  • Good baseball knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work in fast-paced atmosphere
  • Able to work six days a week, nights, and often 10-12 hour days
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience covering high school, collegiate, or professional sports as a broadcaster and writer
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Audio and video editing skills
  • Writing and distributing newsletters and game notes

Office Support Staff

Must be flexible, able to work under pressure at times and successfully multi-task.  This position will report into the Office Manager and be supported by interns.

Responsibilities:
Answer phone calls & emails and return messages

  • Inventory oversight; includes tracking and ordering
  • Merchandise; store & field
  • Concessions: soda, beer, food, supplies

Player management

  • Ensure all documents (contracts) are signed, scanned and filed
  • Manage player housing

Accounting

  • Verify field receipts (concession/merchandise sales + payments)
  • Track AR/AP (QuickBooks)
  • Make daily deposits
  • Payroll (player & staff)
  • Ensure cash ready for game day registers

Requirements:

  • Rope off group seating
  • Hang signs
  • Setup special ticketing area, if required (for group of 50+)
  • Ensure food / drinks are setup in appropriate area
  • Cleanup when done
  • Perform host duties throughout the game
  • Oversee distribution of food/drink
