The Vallejo Admirals have signed right-handed pitcher Brett Schneider for the 2018 season, his first in professional baseball. A native of Coral Springs, Fla., Schneider joins the Admirals from Dominican College, an NCAA Division II school in Orangeburg, N.Y.
“We are pleased to announce Brett’s signing,” said Admirals assistant general manager Matt Snyder, “He will have the opportunity to make our staff strong right out of the gate.”
With the Chargers, Schneider pitched in 40 games, 32 of them as a starter. He struck out 191 batters in 209 career innings (8.22 strikeouts per nine innings), while allowing only 69 walks and nine home runs in his college career.
Schneider completed his eligibility with an 11-11 record, a 3.70 ERA, and an All-CACC Tournament Team selection. He matriculated from Coral Springs High School, where he was named FHSAA All-District and All-County in baseball.
