The Vallejo Admirals broke out of their hitting slump on Sunday but the Sonoma Stompers kept their hitting surge going.
The Stompers swept the Admirals in the Pacific Association series after a 10-7 win at Arnold Park.
The Admirals (7-11) pounded out 15 hits but they couldn’t overcome 14 hits and a four-run first inning from Sonoma (10-7).
The Stompers scored four in the first against Admirals ace David Dinelli. Mark Hurley had a two-run double to highlight the inning.
Vallejo eventually closed to 4-3, after scoring two in the third and one in the fourth. P.J. Phillips had an RBI single amd Darian Sandford had a single and scored on a wild pitch in the third. Sandford had a sacrifice fly to knock in Lydell Moseby in the fourth but Sonoma extended its lead with one in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
Vallejo scored one more in the sixth as Tim Williams’ RBI single knocked in Sandford. The Admirals scored two in the seventh as Phillips scored on a wild pitch and Moseby had an RBI single.
The Admirals scored their final run in the ninth on Wilfredo Petit’s solo homer.
Petit was 3-for-5 while Williams, Moseby, Raul Navarro and Sandford all had two hits. Sandford stole two bases and has 14 on the season.
Caleb Bryson hit a home run and had three hits for the Stompers.
The Admirals host the San Rafael Pacifics in a series starting on Tuesday.
