The Vallejo Admirals fell behind 8-1 after three innings and lost to the Pittsburg Diamonds 10-3 on Friday as the two teams split their two-game, Pacific Association series at Winter Chevrolet Stadium.
Vallejo starting pitcher Alex Dandridge (0-5) surrendered six runs in two innings and reliever Brian McKenna allowed four more in his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Gabriel Bracamonte hit a two-run homer and Ryan Lashley hit a two-run homer later in the first for a 4-0 lead. The Admirals (29-27) cut the lead to 4-1 in the top of the third when Vladimir Guerrero’s sacrifice fly but Pittsburg (25-31) added four more in the bottom of that inning, as Bracamonte crushed a two-run shot to end Dandridge’s evening. Rafael Valera hit a solo shot later in that inning and Jose Garcia added an RBI single as Pittsburg led 8-1.
Vallejo’s only other two runs came in the sixth when Rian Kiniry tripled and then scored on Chevy Clarke’s two-run homer, his eighth of the season.
The win went to Dakota Freese (3-4), who worked seven innings, allowing four hits and five walks while fanning four.
The Admirals host Martinez Saturday and then Napa Sunday to start a four-game homestand at Wilson Park.
