The Vallejo Admirals scored three in the first inning but lost to the Sonoma Stompers 5-4 on Friday night at Arnold Field as they were swept in the Pacific Association series.
Rian Kiniry launched his 21st homer, a three-run shot in the first inning.
Jalen Miller pitched well but did not earn a decision for the Admirals. He went five innings, striking out 12 and walking five and allowing two hits and three runs. Brian McKenna suffered the loss in relief.
Vallejo hit Sonoma starting pitcher Tyler Sharp well as he went just 4 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and four runs. He struck out seven and walked eight. Ryan Richardson got the win in relief and Jacob Cox notched his 24th save.
Niko Pacheco’s single knocked in Kenny Meimerstorf for the winning run in the eighth.
First-place Sonoma improved to 52-22 and fourth-place Vallejo dropped to 33-41.
The Admirals are at home on Saturday and Sunday.
