VALLEJO, Calif. — Nick Akins Sr. hit a three-run home run and Wilkyns Jimenez hit a solo shot to help lead the Vallejo Admirals to a 14-5 win over the San Rafael Pacifics on Saturday night at Wilson Park.

Jimenez finished with three RBI. Zach Files went 3-for-3, scoring two runs and knocking in another. Chevy Clarke went 2-for-5 as the Admirals scored a season-high 14 runs.

Mike Melendez (4-2) got the win, going six innings and allowing five runs (four earned) on 10 hits with four strikeouts and no walks.

Chip White (2-5), who was terrific his last time out against the Admirals on the Fourth of July, was knocked out after two innings on Saturday, allowing seven runs on six hits.

San Rafael scored two in the top of the first for an early lead. Axel Johnson doubled in one run and Johnson came around on a wild pitch and then a passed ball.

The Admirals rolled a four in the bottom of the inning. Chris Fornaci scored on a wild pitch, then Zach Files singled in a run. Jimenez then singled in two.

In the second, Akins came up with two on and two out and blasted a ball over the left field fence for his ninth home run of the year.

The Admirals made it 9-2 in the third when Jimenez led off with his home run and Vladimir Gomez later hit a sacrifice fly.
