SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Dakota Freese returned from the Inactive List with a strong start and O’Koyea Dickson hit another home run as the Vallejo Admirals beat San Rafael 8-4 on Saturday night at Albert Field to tie the Pacifics for second place in the Pacific Association.

The win was Vallejo’s 14th out of its last 16 games.

Freese hadn’t pitched since July 28. His control wavered at times but he seemed to get stronger as the game went on. The Admirals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on Tillman Pugh’s two-run single. Vallejo scored in the first inning for the fourth consecutive game. San Rafael got a run back in the bottom of the inning on Axel Johnson’s RBI-double.

Dickson unloaded in the third inning for a three-run home run to left. It was Dickson’s fifth home run in seven games for the Admirals.

Chevy Clarke hit a two-run homer in the sixth and Matt Eureste hit a solo shot off of Jailen Peguero in the ninth.

Pugh finished 3-for-4 on the night. Dickson went 2-for-5.
