From the Vallejo Times-Herald

The Vallejo Admirals are looking for some spark in the final weeks of the regular season.

The Pacific Association organization re-signed infielder Graylin Derke on Wednesday as the youngster returns after playing in the American Association and Frontier League. Both of those conferences are independent as is the Pacific Association.

Derke, 24, played in 24 games with the Admirals earlier this season, as he hit .340 (32-for-94) with six homers and 37 RBIs. He then signed with the Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association and played in five games before playing in nine games with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League. He hit .200 with Wichita and .105 with Florence.

The 6-foot-4, 198-pound Derke returns to a Vallejo team that has lost six straight games heading into play on Wednesday night. The Admirals have 15 games left in the regular season.
