VALLEJO, Calif. — Left-hander Mike Melendez allowed two earned runs in seven innings to carry the Vallejo Admirals to a 7-2 victory over the Napa Silverados on Friday night at Wilson Park.

Melendez (5-4) scattered six hits while striking out six and walking four.

O’Koyea Dickson blasted a two-run home run for Vallejo while Montrell Marshall added a solo shot.

The Admirals scored two unearned runs in the second inning and Napa registered single runs in the second and fourth. Vallejo took the lead with a three-run fifth on a run-scoring double by Tillman Pugh and Dickson’s towering home run over the left field fence. Marshall’s solo shot led off the sixth and the Admirals wrapped up the scoring on doubles by Zach Files and Pugh in the seventh.

Napa starter Billy Felo took the loss in a strange performance. He allowed five runs (three earned) in five innings but struck out 11 yielded just four hits. Vallejo batters struck out 17 times in the win.

John LaRoss and Cameron Hatch each threw an inning of perfect relief to close it out.

The Admirals, who have already clinched third place in the Pacific Association and will open the playoffs Wednesday at home against Napa, play their final home game of the regular season Saturday against San Rafael. First pitch is at 5:05 p.m.
