VALLEJO, Calif. — The Vallejo Admirals scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to come from behind for a 6-4 win over the visiting Sonoma Stompers on Friday night at Wilson Park.
The Admirals had trailed most of the night before taking the lead in the seventh. Chevy Clarke knocked in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly.
Alirio Negrette pitched 1 2/3 innings for the win. Jake Ehret came on to pitch the ninth and earn the Admirals first save of the Pacific Association season. Vallejo improved to 3-3 with the victory.
Nick Akins Sr. hit his second home run of the season, a two-run shot to right in the fifth to tie the score 2-2. The Stompers had taken a 2-0 lead on Vallejo starter Mike Melendez thanks to solo home runs by Chris Kwitzer and Jacob Barfield.
Sonoma (3-3) went back up in the top of the seventh with two runs while chasing Melendez.
Vallejo answered with Vladimir Gomez leading off with a single and Pugh following with a bunt hit. Ricky Gingras knocked in one with a double. A wild pitch brought home the tying run and Clarke then hit his sacrifice fly.
