VALLEJO, Calif. — Nick Akins Sr., Tillman Pugh and Montrell Marshall all homered as the Vallejo Admirals won their 15th game in their last 18 with a 15-4 win over Salina on Tuesday night at Wilson Park.

Skylar Janisse (3-1) went six innings for the win. Vallejo is now one-half game behind San Rafael for second place in the Pacific Association. The Admirals have nine games remaining including three against San Rafael.

Vallejo jumped out to an 8-0 lead with three in the first, two more in the second and three in the third. Graylin Derke’s bases-loaded single brought in the first two runs in the first and an error allowed a third to score.

Akins hit his Pacific Association-leading 19th home run of the year in the second, a two-run shot to left to make it 5-0. In the third, Vladimir Gomez singled in one run and O’Koyea Dickson singled in two.

Janisse wasn’t as sharp as his last outing, when he threw a complete game shutout against San Rafael. He allowed three home runs on the night: Zane Gelphman, Eric Kozak and Cos Cannella went deep to account for all of Salina’s runs. Janisse struck out eight and allowed six hits and three walks.

Marshall finished with three hits including a three-run homer in the eighth. Derke finished 2-for-3 with three RBI.
