VALLEJO, Calif. — Vladimir Gomez and Matt Eureste homered and John LaRossa came on in relief to earn his first win as an Admiral, as Vallejo held on for a 7-6 win over Sonoma on Thursday night at Wilson Park.

Eureste extended his hitting streak to eight games with a solo home run to right in the fifth. It was his fourth of the year. Gomez hit a solo shot to right in the first, his second of the season.

Sonoma got solo home runs from Jacob Barfield, Rob DeAngelis and Dondrei Hubbard – the latter’s league-leading 11th of the year.

Jesse Remington got the start but was pulled after walking Bronson Butcher leading off the fourth. LaRossa (1-1) came on and went three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit to get the win.

Vallejo took the lead for good in the fourth when Graylin Derke’s single with the bases loades scored two runs. Derke was 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored on the night. Chris Fornaci went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

The Stompers rallied against closer Jake Ehret in the ninth. Entering with a three-run lead, Ehret didn’t retire a batter, walking three and hitting one. Harold Myes came on to record his first save, allowing just one of the inherited runners to score.

Konner Arnold (4-2) took the loss, allowing five runs (all earned) on six hits in 5 2/3 innings with six strikeouts against three walks. Remington allowed three runs (all earned) on six hits with one strikeout and three walks in his three-plus innings.
