VALLEJO, Calif. — Carl Brice made his second consecutive strong start, going six innings and allowing just one run to help lead the Vallejo Admirals to a 7-2 win over the Salina Stockade at Wilson Park on Saturday.

The win pushed the Admirals to 4-3 on the year, the first time they have been above .500 on the young Pacific Association season.

Vladimir Gomez went 4-for-5 to help lead the offense. Chevy Clarke had three hits and Zach Files added two for Vallejo.

Brice, who threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings against San Rafael on June 2, allowed a run in the top of the first and nothing more. He allowed the one run on six hits with seven strikeouts against two walks.

After falling behind in the first, the Admirals immediately tied the score in the bottom of the inning when Files singled in Gomez. Vallejo went up for good in the second when Gomez singled in Chris Fornaci.

The Admirals scored three in the fifth to break it open. Jacob Wark singled in one run, Nick Crouse doubled in another and Gomez singled in a third.

The Admirals travel to San Rafael for a Sunday matinee on June 9. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. Vallejo returns home against Salina on June 12 (6:35 p..m.). Tickets, information and the complete 2019 schedule are online at VallejoAdmirals.com.
