VALLEJO, Calif. — Chevy Clarke and Nick Akins Sr. each hit two home runs and Vladimir Gomez hit a go-ahead home run as the Vallejo Admirals beat San Rafael 10-4 on Thursday at Wilson Park. Clarke homered from both sides of the plate.

The win was the fourth in row for the Admirals, their longest winning streak since winning the first four games of the 2018 season (May 31-June 3).

Skylar Janisse got his first win as an Admiral, going six innings and allowing three runs (all earned) on eight hits with six strikeouts against two walks.

San Rafael took a 2-0 lead. Corey Dempster singled in a run in the first, then Mike Annone led off the second with a home run to right.

Vallejo came back in the bottom of the second. Clarke led off the inning with a solo shot to center while batting right-handed. Later in the inning, Gomez hit a two-run blast to center to put the Admirals up for good, 3-2.

Akins led off the third with his 11th home run of the year, a shot to left field to make it 4-2. Ermindo Escobar’s solo blast leading off the fourth cut the lead to 4-3.

The Admirals blew it open with a five-run sixth. Gomez singled in one run and Matt Eureste knocked in another with a sacrifice fly. Akins then unloaded, sending a ball over the scoreboard in left, a three-run shot to make it 9-3.

Clarke hit a solo shot in the seventh, batting left-handed. He now has five on the season.
