SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Dakota Freese was outstanding on the mound and the Vallejo Admirals used a four-run sixth to down the San Rafael Pacifics 4-1 on Sunday, ending a four-game losing streak.

Freese struck out eight and allowed just three hits in 7 1/3 innings of work. He walked five but allowed just one run. Alex Leach came on to finish the eighth and Jake Ehret earned his fourth save of the season with a perfect ninth.

Freese retired the first nine hitters he faced. Raul Navarro led off the fourth with a single for the Pacifics. Navarro eventually stole home on a straight steal for the game’s first run.

The Admirals responded in the sixth. Vladimir Gomez led off by reaching on a strikeout-wild pitch. One out later, Ricky Gingras walked. With two outs, Graylin Derke singled in Gomez. An error on San Rafael centerfielder Corey Dempster moved the runners up to second and third.

Nick Crouse singled them both in. After Crouse moved to second on a passed ball, Jacob Wark singled him in to make it 4-1.

Freese improved to 2-3 on the season.
