VALLEJO, Calif. – Dakota Freese combined with three other Admiral pitchers to shut out the Salina Stockade on Tuesday as Vallejo defeated Salina 7-0 at Wilson Park.

Freese went six innings and allowed just two hits while striking out nine and walking four. John LaRossa, Andrew Cartier and Eli Garcia each pitched an inning to complete the four-hit shutout.

Meantime, the Vallejo offense scored three in the first to give Freese all the support he needed. Eight of the nine starters had at least one hit. Chris Fornaci led off the first with a double – the 12th consecutive game he has reached base since coming off the Inactive List. Matt Eureste reached on an error by Salina second baseman Cos Canella, which allowed Fornaci to score.

Graylin Derke singled in Eureste and Daniel Gardner singled in Derke.

The Admirals made it 4-0 in the fourth when they attempted a double-steal. Eureste was thrown out at second but Wark came home on the play.

Vallejo got three more runs in the fifth. One run scored on an error, another came home on a Zach Files single. Wark hit a sacrifice fly for the final run.

The Admirals homestand continues on Wednesday when the Napa Silverados come to Wilson Park at 6:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Ozcat Radio 89.5 FM KZCT Vallejo. For more information, go to vallejoadmirals.com or call 707-641-1111.
