The Vallejo Admirals announced that Heather Luna, a veteran of the Pacific Association, will be the team’s new General Manager.

Luna worked as the Assistant General Manager with the San Rafael Pacifics during their 2018 Pacific Association championship season.

“I am thrilled to return to the Pacific Association, where I first experienced the joy and value of community-based professional baseball,” Luna said. “Thanks to Dave Phinney’s extraordinary commitment and support, we will bring renewed energy to the Admirals mission to provide Vallejo with a fun and entertaining fan experience every day of the season. There will also be a partnership between the team and local non-profit and community-based organizations and the excitement of professional baseball.

“Come to Wilson Park this summer and be a part of it all.”

The sale of the Admirals to Dave Phinney was announced earlier this week.

“When I heard Heather was interested in working with us, I immediately met with her,” Phinney said. “Her experiences, both on and off the field, will be critical to the future direction of the team.”

Luna grew up in Napa and played several sports as a child. She did her undergraduate work at Sonoma State and earned a Masters in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. She has worked for two Super Bowl host committees, managing the Volunteer Department.

Luna said she loves the personal touch with independent minor league baseball.

“It is approachable, allows me to do the most outlandish things at a ballpark and also ties in my passion for community,” Luna said. “I can hand out tickets to an Admirals game. I cannot hand out Super Bowl tickets.”
