VALLEJO, Calif. — The Salina Stockade scored eight runs in the 10th inning on Thursday night to notch their first win all year against the Vallejo Admirals, winning 19-13 at Wilson Park.

Vallejo had won the first 12 meetings between the teams, including two improbable comeback wins – one from down 9-2 and the other from down 12-6 in the 10th inning.

Dave Gallagher went three-for-seven with six RBI including a three-run home run in the third and a two-run single to get the Stockade going in the 10th. Cos Cannella went two-for-six with five RBI including a three-run home run in the fifth.

The game was a back-and-forth affair and lasted four hours, 33 minutes. Salina went up 2-0 with single runs in the first and second. The Admirals got three in the bottom of the second with Chevy Clarke, Ryan Cooper and Zach Files each knocking in a run.

Gallagher put Salina on top with his shot in the third. Jacob Wark led off the fourth with a solo home run to start a three-run inning to put Vallejo back on top.

The Stockade scored five in the fifth, capped by Cannella’s home run. Nick Akins Sr. hit his league-leading 21st home run in the sixth to cut the deficit to 10-8. The Admirals finally tied the score with a three-run eighth. Montrell Marshall had the key hit, a two-run double.
