The Vallejo Admirals saw their seven-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday in a 2-1 heartbreaker to the San Rafael Pacfics at Albert Park.

Patrick Barnett (3-4) fired a complete-game, three hitter for San Rafael, striking our four and walking three. Roman Gomez (4-3) suffered the tough-luck loss allowing just five hits over seven innings. He allowed both runs, walked five and fanned three.

The Pacifics took a 1-0 lead in the first as Maikel Jova singled in Zack Pace, who had walked to lead off the inning.

The Admirals tied it with two outs in the sixth when Darian Sandford walked, stole second and scored on Tim Williams’ single. It was Sandford’s league-leading 45th steal of the year.

San Rafael went ahead for good in the seventh as Garrett Gemgnani walked and eventually scored on a ground ball from Pace.

Vallejo got two runners on base in the eighth as Alian Silva singled and Sandford walked but Barnett retired Williams to end the threat. Barnett retired the Admirals 1-2-3 in the ninth.

The Admirals moved to 23-32 overall, but 8-8 in the second half of the Pacific Association slate. The Pacifics are now 32-23 overall, 11-5 in the second half.

The two teams continue their series on Wednesday on “Dave Dravecky Night.” The former San Francisco Giants pitcher will give a motivational speech before the game.
