Catcher Wilfredo Petit launched a two-run, go-ahead homer in the 10th inning as the Vallejo Admirals beat the Sonoma Stompers 6-2 in the Admirals final game at Arnold Field until late August.

The Admirals (15-21) led 2-1 until the ninth but a costly error allowed the Stompers (20-15) to tie the game.

After Petit’s one-out homer, Gadiel Baez had a sacrifice fly and Tim Williams added an RBI single for the final margin of victory.

Pedro Perez (1-0) picked up the win in relief. Marquis Hutchinson went the first six innings, allowing four hits and one run. He struck out nine and walked five.

Each team scored one in the third inning. Gerald Bautista’s single knocked in Williams in the top half of the inning. Cody Bishop had a sacrifice fly for the Stompers in the bottom half.

The Admirals went up 2-1 in the sixth when Aaron Brill’s sacrifice fly scored P.J. Phillips.

Williams was 3-for-5 and raised his average to .326. Petit had two hits and Darian Sandford swiped his league-leading 26th base.

Mike Jackson Jr. went the first nine innings for the Stompers, allowing seven hits and two runs (one earned). He struck out four.

The Admirals head to San Rafael on Tuesday to start a three-game series to finish the first half of the season. They will host the Stompers at Wilson Park starting on Friday. The Stompers, Pacifics and Diamonds are all still in first-half playoff contention heading into the week.
