The Vallejo Admirals improved to 3-0 after a 13-8 slugfest win over the host Martinez Clippers on Saturday evening at Joe DiMaggio Field.
The Admirals got a grand slam from Vladimir Gomez, two homers from Rian Kiniry and one homer from Tillman Pugh. Gomez was 2-for-5 and knocked in five and Kiniry was 2-for-6 and drove in three.
The Admirals led 9-3 after a seven-run third inning and 13-4 after a four-run eighth.
Dalton Bernardi was the winning pitcher as he went five innings and allowed four hits and four runs.
The Clippers, an expansion team in the Pacific Association, are 0-3.
The series concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. in Martinez. The Admirals hit the road again on Tuesday in Pittsburg.
