VALLEJO, Calif. — Chip White, Tyler Skinner and Jailen Peguero combined on a two-hitter to help lead San Rafael to a 5-1 victory over the Vallejo Admirals on Thursday at Wilson Park.

Peguero’s son Yeiler Peguero made his debut for San Rafael, playing third base and going 3-for-4. Yeiler Peguero is a 21-year old switch hitter who was recently released by the Cubs organization after playing five years in their system.

Jesse Remington took the loss for Vallejo, falling to 1-3. White improved to 2-3, 2-1 since coming to San Rafael from Salina.

White went 7 1/3 innings, allowing just a double by Ricky Gingras and a single by Matt Eureste. The latter ended White’s day. Tyler Skinner came on and got a double-play to get out of the inning. Jailen Peguero entered with two on and nobody out in the ninth. Although he let one runner in on a wild pitch, he retired Graylin Derke, Gingras and Zach Files to end the game.

San Rafael got two runs in the top of the first. Jacob Columbo singled with the bases loaded and two outs. Raul Navarro singled in a run in the second and hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Axel Johnson tripled in the eighth and was singled in by Jimmy Lunardelli.

Vallejo travels to Napa on Friday to face the Silverados at 5:05 p.m. The Admirals return home on Saturday for a 1:05 p.m. game with Salina. For more information, go to vallejoadmirals.com or call 707-641-1111.
